ABOUT JUDGES AND SPEAKERS

Hicham Hajji, is a Moroccan Film Producer. In 2005, after three years in Canada studying in a Montreal Film School and one year working on music video with Nu Films’s production team, Hicham decided to come back to his country where he was called for a lot of national and international interesting projects and started to work on feature films as a second then first assistant director.

 

After many challenges as a First AD, in 2008 he decided to create his own production company. He started by directing and producing his own short films that leaded him to Cannes Film Festivals for three years in a row, and also to help the foreign producers to shoot their projects in Morocco, which is the main income for the company until today.

 

Hicham lives in Los Angeles where he created a branch of his company to develop and produces feature films.

 

 

 

Davey Jay is a shareholder at Meehle & Jay in Orlando, FL and the Chair-Elect of the Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law (EASL) section of the Florida Bar. Davey currently

represents clients in many areas of the entertainment industry, including filmmakers, actors, agents, managers, promoters and production companies.

 

She has worked on deals with major enterprises such as HBO, Warner Chappell, Discovery, and Sony/Columbia, to indies and startups, and has represented Oscar and Grammy winners along with artists and creatives who are just beginning to embark on their careers.

 

In addition to practicing law, Davey has been an educator for over ten years. She created and currently teaches the Entertainment & Law; Communications Law course in the Film Production Masters of Fine Art degree at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL.

 

 

 

Bill W. Benton is an American sound engineer. He won an Academy Award for Best Sound with Dances with Wolves (1990) and has been nominated for two more in the same category: Geronimo: An American Legend (1993),

Independence Day (1996). He has worked on more than 110 films since 1980.

 

 

 

Larry Katz, is an American 2nd Assistant Director. While many of his classmates in Full Sail's Film program dreamt of being the next Spielberg or writing an Oscar-winning screenplay, Larry Katz had a more direct goal in mind – to be an assistant director.

 

After graduating from in 2000, Larry moved to Los Angeles and set his sights on the Director's Guild of America Training Program. He didn't get in the first year, but remained encouraged and landed the coveted internship in 2002.

 

His credits include films like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Captain America: The First Avenger, and X-Men: First Class and TV shows including ER and Seventh Heaven. As a second AD, it's Larry's responsibility to make sure the day runs smoothly, and it's one he relishes.

 

 

 

 

Guillermo Londono, is an actor and casting director with a theater Acting Degree. Founding Member of the Miami Film Community. In his possession he has more than 25 Feature Films and an infinity of Short Films with multiple awards worldwide. He has also worked as a producer on multiple projects.

 

 

Abraham Pulido, is a longtime Hispanic director in the USA and Latin America.

His most recent film "PUNCH TO THE HEART" currently on Amazon Prime holds the record

audience in Venezuela since 2015 with 26 weeks in theaters in addition to several international awards.

 

Pulido is as well a TV series Director from Univision and Venevision, his most recent one is MARY FOR MAYOR (14 episodes streaming) for Cox Entertainment.

 

He has received more than 80 awards in over 800 commercials in 35mm and 4k and high definition for the most famous brands in the world, as well as Music Videos for the most successful Latin artists such as Ricky Martin, Franco De Vita, Chayanne, Santa Rosa and many more. Pulido was the first Latino to win an MTV AWARD.

 

At the same time, he was one of the Judges for the famous PLATINUM AWARDS (2017) in Madrid, Spain. He has been invited as professor in the Miami International Art institute several times, as well as Vice President of the HISPANIC INDEPENDENT PRODUCER OF AMERICA. Now, he is in pre-production of a psychological horror feature film entitled "Saraluna" that will be filmed in 2018.

 

 

Peter Gordon is a Media Executive, content expert, writer and educator with successful

experience building brands, driving revenue, and profit growth for television networks, rights holders, and more.

Teach Business of Film to MFA Students at Full Sail University. Other Classes include Introduction to Business in the Entertainment Business BA program.

Peter worked as Managing director at Golf Channel and he earned a MFA in DIRECTING at the Carnegie Mellon University and his B.A in History at Yale University.

 

 

 

Van Manson is a feature film screenwriter, short story author, and aspiring novelist. He is currently completing his first young adult novel and many feature film scripts. He is obsessed with film and television, and all items related to the entertainment industries.

 

In addition to his writing abilities Van is an educator, filmmaker, and photographer with nearly twenty years of combined experience in the entertainment industries. He has worked in feature films, television, news, commercials, and even with governments. His roles primarily consist of Directing, Producing, Director of Photography, and 1st AD.

 

In addition to his work experience, he holds a Master’s Degree in Education Media Design and Technology, a Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Film Production.

 

 

 

About Miami Fear Fest

We are an indie horror, suspense, and sci-film festival breaking into the Miami art scene. The Miami Fearfest purpose is to promote filmmakers works and be an space for independent filmmakers.

 

During this second edition, the festival will consist of two days. The first being a day of special guest speakers, a make-up masterclass and Q&As. The second day we will be private screenings of the selected short films.

 

Last year we had over 60 international submissions. People from Spain, Japan, Denmark, Australia, Andorra, The United States, among others. The winners of last year proved to have what it takes to make movie magic. For 2017 we have new surprises and an unforgettable event!
